Douglas L. Curry

     

Mr. Curry currently serves of counsel to the law firm of Erickson | Sederstrom, returning to the firm in which he was a senior partner from 1984 to 1997.  Erickson & Sederstrom merged with the law firm of Ginsburg, Rosenberg, Cathcart, Curry and Gordon in 1984, where he also was a senior partner.  Mr. Curry spent a career representing the interests of many of the largest public service industries in Nebraska.

He is recognized for his work within the areas of energy law, electric utilities, post‑secondary education institutions, and public health and hospital administration. Through this work, he served in a number of local, regional, and national leadership positions.  From 1978 to 1997, Mr. Curry was outside legal counsel for the Lincoln, Nebraska, Electric System (LES).  During that time, Mr. Curry also served as General Counsel for Southeast (Nebraska) Community College and Lincoln General Hospital.  In 1997, Mr. Curry was appointed General Counsel and Vice President of LES, a position that he held until 2011; he also served as CEO during 2009-10.  While at LES, Mr. Curry served as a member of the Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) Board, including service on its Dispute Resolution Committee (Chair), Compensation Committee, and as a member of its Hearing Body.  He also served as a member of the Midwest Independent System Operator (MISO) Dispute Resolution Committee, Secretary of the Transmission Access Policy Study Group (TAPS), and Chair of the American Public Power Association (APPA) Legal Section.  He addressed a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission “Reliability, Monitoring and Enforcement” Technical Conference at the invitation of APPA and TAPS.
